I was a very serious runner in high school and college, and kept it up well into my 30's. I then dropped it 12 years ago due to serious foot problems. Recently I got some orthotics (the "made for my feet" expensive kind) and tried taking up running again. They seem to have fixed my problem. I started up about 1 mo ago and am now running 5 miles at a pop (fortunately, I kept in relatively good condition from karate). Nothing makes me happier than to go out and run. I may be too old to knock off back to back 5:30 miles now, but I still feel the old guns in the legs.

I enjoyed reading that, it very much reminds me of my start with running four years ago when I was 43. I even have an old man as part of my story - I often see him at 10K races, he just turned 91 and still finishes!
