The Running Guy

Longest Run Ever on Sunday

05.02.06

Last Sunday, I ran the longest I have run - ever. I logged 27-K in around 2 and half hours. It felt good pretty much the entire way. I ran slowly (pace = 6:00 / km) and just tried to focus on form and consistency. I was very happy to be done - both from a success factor as well as it is done.

This will not be the longest I run during this training, but it is up there. I am looking forward to increasing that over the next few weeks to prove to myself that I can really run anything, as long as I run it smart and consistent.

That’s great! One thing that has helped me in the past on those long runs that you might think of…if you think of a long run in a series of run blocks, such as 3 10ks for a 30k run, sometimes that feels more comfortable than running the whole 30k. Any way that you are doing it, it’s great! Congratulations and best wishes for continued success!

Was it the Calgary Marathon you were training for? Did you run it? How did it go?
