The running community in Calgary is one of the reasons I love this city so much. Despite the fact that Victoria has a better climate for running I have found Calgary a better city for runners of ALL levels. Whether you belong to one of the local clubs, attend a club/clinic run at Running Room, a community center or other stores such as Gord's Running Store - they all seem to be supportive of runners/walkers from the speedy elite to the back-of-the-packers.

I agree that by the Running Room having their club/clinic runs they do generate business as does having race package pickups at their stores. For example last week I picked up my EMS race pkg and bought 2 new pink tech shirts while I was waiting my turne.
