I started running in 2000 because I knew I would become a big chocolate blob if I didn't exercise as I aged. Running is flexible and accessible, financially and time-wise, and I can choose my teammates! As to marathoning - for me, personally, it's also an age goal thing. I want to try it once before I'm 40. I want to do it well and injury-free, so I'm also aiming for 2006.

Nothing like a big goal to keep the training happening!

I'm not sure about what drives others, but for me seeing more and more "average" or less than average runners out there has gone a long way to inspire myself into trying things I might not have before. Also encouragement from runners I admire has given me confidence I lacked before.

As for "Super Size Me" I haven't been to Mcd's since I watched it.
